Aftercare Instructions
First 48 Hours
-Wash your hands with soap and warm water before handling your new tattoo.
-Saniderm may be left on for no longer than 24 hours and may be replaced with new Saniderm. Any other covering or bandage should be removed after 2 hours and SHOULD NOT be re-covered.
-Upon removal of the covering or bandage, gently clean the area with fragrance-free & dye-free antibacterial soap, being sure to remove any leftover blood, ointment, ink, or plasma. (NEVER USE EXFOLIANTS, WASH CLOTHS, LOOFAHS, ECT.)
-Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a paper towel.
-Allow the tattoo to dry for 10-15 minutes before applying ointment.
-Use tattoo butter or Aquaphor. If you wish to use a different product, please contact, and verify with your artist.
-Ointment should be used twice a day (Morning and Evening) and should be used sparingly. The ointment should be a thin layer worked into the tattoo enough to give it a shine. Overuse of ointment will clog pores and may lead to prolonged healing, scabs, and bumps.
-After 72 hours you may replace tattoo butter/Aquaphor with non-scented lotion. We recommend using Lubriderm.
Further Care and Precautions
-DO NOT submerge your tattoo in water of any kind until all scabs are fully healed.
-Keep your healing tattoo out of the sun! It is recommended to use coverings or high SPF lotions on healed pieces to reduce fading caused by UV rays.
-DO NOT pick any scabs on the tattoo! This will damage your tattoo and cause ink to fall out.
-Once the tattoo is fully healed, be sure to continue hydrating your tattoo daily with lotion. This will ensure the longevity of your tattoo and keep it looking fresh!
-If an infection occurs, please contact a physician.
